A bunch of humpback whales swim right past our boat after completing a bubble-net feeding event. We counted twelve individuals in this group. Last week I spent a day in Tracy Arm onboard the Captain Cook. As we left, heading north to Juneau some 40 miles away, Captain Steve took us by the Midway Islands in the middle of Stephens Passage to enjoy a sea lion haul-out. Last week I spent a day in Tracy Arm onboard the Captain Cook and photographed this harbor seal limbering up to do some iceberg yoga. Last week I spent a day in Tracy Arm onboard the Captain Cook and shot this image of a mother harbor seal checking in with its pup. The iceberg jam in the bay in front of South Sawyer Glacier is one of the top three most productive harbor seal pupping areas in Southeast Alaska along with LeConte Glacier near Petersburg and Johns Hopkins Glacier in Glacier Bay National Park.
