Glacier trekkers on tour with Northstar Helicopters cross the Hole in the Wall Glacier in the Juneau Icefield. The four helicopter companies in Juneau take over 150,000 visitors a season to see the glaciers. This photo illustrates the month of May in my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 35-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Film: 35mm Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley

Killer whales surface with the Eagle Glacier in distant view. They are regular vistors to the waters surrounding Juneau. Killer whales usually travel in pods containing 3 to 40 animals. These pods of whales are much like wolf packs and travel in family groups covering vast areas within their range. This photo illustrates the month of April in my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 35-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Film:35mm Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley

I photographed my wife having her morning coffee on the beach through the window of the forest service cabin at the head of the bay. The view of Lions Head Mountain from the cabin is stunning. Berners Bay is a wonderfully safe wilderness kayaking/boating area that the recreational day users from Juneau love. This photo illustrates the month of October in my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 35-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Film:35mm Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley

Black bears parade through Juneau on a fairly regular basis. I photographed this bear within two hundred feet of the Governor's Mansion in downtown Juneau. Last summer, a sleeping exchange student was sun bathing in our neighbors yard and got nuzzled by a bear. Without opening his eyes the swedish student pushed away what he thought was a dog. The second bear nuzzle woke up the snoozing student and sent both of them scattering. This photo illustrates the month of June in my 2006 Juneau ...

I photographed this brown bear while visiting my friends, Joe and Karey, at their wilderness lodge in Crab Cove, Funter Bay, Admiralty Island. I have an ongoing photo series on my friends wonderful lodge (see image numbers: 2301, 2302, 2303, 2304, 2305, 2306, 2307 and 2323). This photo illustrates the month of July in my 2006 Southeast Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 500mm f/4 Nikkor, Film: 35mm Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley

I shot this photo while on assignment for West Tours. The company's small cruise ship put us out in inflatables, and we drove around the icebergs in front of the South Sawyer Glacier. Tracy Arm has some of the bluest icebergs I have ever seen. This photo shows the variety and the intensity of the blue bergs. This photo illustrates the month of February in my 2006 Southeast Alaska Calendar and page 18 in book on Tracy Arm.Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 20-35mm f/2.8 Nikkor (polarized), Film: ...
