Temsco Helicopter tours the Juneau Ice Field. I shot from helicopter tohelicopter. The long shadows of the Mendenhall Towers during the eveninglight takes this photo from ordinary to pretty cool. This photo illustratesthe month of September in my Juneau 2005 Juneau Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5,Lens: 35-75mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Polarized, Film: 35mm Fuji Velvia (35mm colorslide film).-Mark Kelley

I rented a helicopter to do this photo. Usually, when I shoot from ahelicopter I take the door completely off so that I have an unobstructedview. It is hard to show the train in the incredible scenery from thetrain, so if possible I like to shoot from an aerial platform setting up thebig picture. This photo illustrates the month of July in my Southeast 2005Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 20-35mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Polarized, Film:35mm Fuji Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley

One of the most photographed scenes in Juneau is the field of fireweed atBrotherhood Park next to the Mendenhall River with the Mendenhall Glacier inthe background. Most photos only show the scene. There is a great hikingtrail right through the middle of this scene, and I love to put people in myphotos. This photo illustrates the month of August in my 2005 SoutheastAlaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 80-200mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Polarized,Film: 35mm Fuji Velvia (35mm color slide ...

I shot this photo around 5:30am. I was on a trip with Alaska Discovery andwas up early looking for models to work this scene. This women woke up fora bathroom break and a grabbed her for this photo before letting her go backto sleep. The first light of the morning is so precious, but most peopleusually sleep through this time of day. This photo illustrates the month ofMay in my 2005 Southeast Alaska Calendar and on page 12 of my book onGlacier Bay. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 20-35mm ...

Two years ago we had a very foggy fall. I was scrambling around trying toproduce fog photos. Rich Culver, one of Juneau's best known fly fisherman, agreed to work with me on this image shot in a very early morning along the shore of Auke lake. I had pre-scouted this location. I like the strongelement of the silhouetted tree in the foreground. This photo illustratesthe month of April in my 2005 Juneau Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens:20-35mm f2.84 Nikkor, Film: 35mm Fuji Velvia (35mm color ...

I wanted to show the lushness of the coast around Southeast Alaska. I useda wide angle emphasising the lush, green, jungle-thick plant growth alongthe beach. The high tide of the aqua-blue waters reminds me of tropicalwaters. Only the snow capped mountains in the background reminds the viewerthat we are in Juneau. This photo illustrates the month of May in my 2005Juneau Calendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 20-35mm f/2.8 Nikkor, polarized,Film: 35mm Fuji Velvia (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley
