Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness – Image 2446

A 32-foot boat cruises past the 200-foot high South Sawyer Glacier face. Glacier ice is usually blue, but the magenta tint covering this glacier is an algae that grows on the glacier ice. It is hard to image something can thrive much less survive in this cold environment. This photo illustrates a card in my collection of blank 5x7 inch photo note cards called Coho Photo Notes. Fireworks, Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2443

For the past several years Eaglecrest Ski Area has celebrated the New Year with a fireworks display on New Year’s Day. What I love about this photo is the size comparison between ski lift towers and the fireworks that dwarf the 30-foot tall towers. This photo illustrates the month of January in my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F/5, Lens: 80-200mm f/2.8, Film 35mm Velvia slide film.-Mark Kelley

Starr Hill, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2442

Happy HolidaysI live on Starr Hill, and this is the view of Juneau and Douglas Island from just above my house. An overnight snow with sunshine in the morning is a rare day in Juneau. Each year I produce a new winter note card for the Christmas season and this image illustrates the 2005 Christmas note card. Besides a note card, this photo is available as a print (print number P-956) with sizes and prices explained in my website store. Camera: Nikon F/5, Lens: 20-35mm f/2.8, Film 35mm ...
