Wedding at Brotherhood Bridge, Alaska – Image 2624

The wedding party from last week’s image moved to the Brotherhood Bridge for another set of family photos with the Mendenhall Glacier in the background. I was photographing the bride and groom with the groom’s brother and wife. They had very colorful umbrellas with them. I asked them to spin the umbrellas, turned my shutter speed down to 1/15 of a second in order to create the spinning blur. The blur was my solution to having the faces pop from the background while not allowing the highly patterned umbrella’s to visually confuse the point of the photo: portraits of the people. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Nikon D700, Lens: 20-35mmf/2.8 Nikkor, Digital Capture-Mark Kelley
