Under the Ice, Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2670

Oct 1, 2013 | 0 comments

Back to Alaska. If you are flying on Alaska Airlines during May, you will see this image of my son, Gabe, exploring the ice caves under the Mendenhall Glacier. It was picked as one of the 10 finalists (out of 1,500 images) for the magazine’s yearly photo contest. Besides the Alaska Airlines photo contest, this image was just accepted in the State of Alaska Museum’s biennial juried photo show. The original print will hang with the show for this summer at the Juneau museum and then will spend the rest of the year traveling to different museums around the state. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Camera body: Nikon D700, Lens: Nikkor 14-24mm, digital capture© Copyright Mark Kelley
