Rick Beasley has revived the Haines Tlingit area historic practice of tree carving. Traditionally, the tree carvings were used as trail markers. Through commissions, Rick has completed four tree carvings in Juneau and two in Bartlett Cove. I shot this photo using a Nikor F5 with a 80-200mm f.2.8 zoom lens on Fuji Velvia film.-Mark Kelley
