Tracy Arm, Alaska – Image 2614

The cruise ship season has started in Alaska with the first ship arriving in Juneau on April 20 (not the ship featured in this image). The one lone ship was out of cycle with the rest of the fleet that starts arriving consistently in May. One of my most favorite places to find blue ice in Alaska is in Tracy Arm. This photo shows a small Cruise West ship in the icebergs of Tracy Arm. What makes this photo for me is the range of blue ice displayed from the big wall of almost white ice to the deep, almost magenta blue berg. I shot this photo while on assignment for Cruise West doing images for their brochures. I was in a small motorized inflatable. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
