Thunder Mountain, Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska – Image 2844

(Image# 2844 on 10-16-2013..October in my 2014 SE cal) One of my favorite camping spots in Juneau is up on top of Thunder Mountain. The views of the Mendenhall Glacier are just drop-dead beautiful. It is a three to four hour strenuous hike up from sea level to about the 3,000 foot level. There is a little pond up on top and if shot carefully it looks like a large lake. What makes this place so wonderful to shoot is the combination of glaciers, mountains, and water. The image illustrates the month of October in my Southeast Alaska 2014 Calendar. Thanks for visiting.
