Surprise Glacier, Prince William Sound, Alaska – Image 2605

I was shooting a book on Alaska and making aerial photos of Prince William Sound. When I left from Seward, Alaska in a small chartered airplane, the skies were clear. By the time I got over Prince William Sound (about an hour away), the area was shrouded in low lying clouds. The view of the Surprise Glacier was the only opening I got in the clouds covering the area during that three hour flight (which cost about $1,500.00). Sometimes photography can be very expensive.
