A skiier cruises the slopes of the Chilkat Mountains across Lynn Canal fromJuneau. Accessible only by helicopter, this mountain range remainsuntracked most of the winter. It is a lucky few that get to ski theseslopes. Our goal on this run was to ski from the top of the moutain to thesandy beach. We never reached the beach. We got into some cliffs anddecided it would be more fun to ski more and explore less. This photoillustrates page 35 in my book, Juneau Portrait II.
