Sitka black-tailed deer are the only native deer found in Southeast Alaska. Average weight for an adult is about 80 to 120 pounds depending on the gender, and they have an average life span of 10 years. I shot this photo using a Nikon F5 with a Nikor 300mm f/4 lens on Fuji Velvia 35mm film. The photo appeared in my 1991 Southeast Alaska Calendar.-Mark Kelley
