Sitka, Alaska – Image 2853

Oct 1, 2013 | 0 comments

The town of Sitka in Southeast Alaska has one of the most stunning backdrop of mountains of any town I know of in Alaska. I was there just after it had snowed over a foot and then the weather cleared. I was indoors all day shooting a magazine assignment of a weaver, and it was just driving me nuts knowing how gorgeous it was outside. I had to fly back home to Juneau that evening and on my way to the airport I stopped to take this photo. The secret to shooting night photos is to shoot the image just before it gets pitch black. Thankfully, I was able to time it just right. The image illustrates the month of January in my Southeast Alaska 2014 Calendar. Thank you for visiting.
