Semipalmated Plover, Alaska – Image 2549

On my strolls on the flats in front of the Mendenhall Glacier, I stumbled upon this little female around her nest. I shot from a prone position (lying flat on my belly) to give the viewer the bird-eye’s perspective and stayed only a very short time in order not to disturb her nesting duties.
