Paddle Rafts on Kongakut River, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska – Image 2113

Every once in a while the Southeast Alaska Portfolio will wander around the state. I spent nine-days rafting the Kongakut River in the Northeast corner of Alaska. The Kongakut River cuts through the Brooks Range flowing north across the arctic coastal plain to the Arctic Ocean. Here the Alaska Discovery raft negotiates a set of rapids. Photographed with a Nikon F-5 camera with a 35 to 75mm F/2.8 Nikkor polarized lens on Fuji Velvia film. Thank you.-Mark Kelley
