Northern Lights over Douglas Island, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2097

Most people associate the northern lights with the dead of winter when the night seems endless and the cold temperatures are numbing. But I shot this Aurora Borealis in August in my shorts while sipping a beer. I shot the red northern lights with a Nikon F-3 on automatic on Fuji 50 film rated at ASA 100.-Mark Kelley
