The “Million Dollar Bridge” spans the Copper River just outside Cordova.Built in 1908 at a cost of 1.5 million dollars, this railroad bridge wasconstructed to transport copper ore from the Kennecott Copper Mine to thesea port of Cordova. In 1958 it was converted to a vechile bridge and wasdamaged by the 1964 Alaska earthquake.
