Mendenhall Lake Biker – Image 2039

I was out wandering around the Mendenhall Glacier and I came across Rey and Dave ice climbing the face of an iceberg frozen in the Mendenhall Lake. I discovered them at the end of the day and arranged for them to come back the next day for some shots. I did not expect them to show up on bikes. I could not believe my good fortune. One of the photos from the day’s shoot ended up in Bicycling Magazine. I shot this photo with an Nikon F4 with a 20-35mm f/2.8 polarized zoom lens with Velvia film.-Mark Kelley
