Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2436

Fresh snows had just fallen the night before in the mountains of Juneau on this early November day. When I got to Mendenhall Lake, fog was covering most of it, obscuring my view of the glacier. I waited and waited hoping that the fog would lift and leave the glacier’s mirror reflection in the lake. The fog lifted and it was not very much longer that the ripples of the light wind ruined the reflection. This photo illustrates the cover of my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar and the month of November.
