Margerie Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska – Image 2479

I love to photograph Margerie Glacier. Besides having a wonderful glacier face (a mile wide and 300 feet high), Margerie is back dropped by an outstanding rack of mountains including the 12,000 foot Mt. Salisbury, the13,650 foot Mt. Adams and the 15,320 foot Mt Fairweather. If you ever wondered what it was like to go on a photo shoot with me read Nick Jans article in the September 2006 issue of Alaska Magazine starting on page 10. Nick accompanied me on a trip to Glacier Bay to photograph Magerie Glacier and his article tells the story of the trip. This season I started a line of postcards with this image being one in a line of 42 different styles.
