Linda Rosenthal, Auke Lake, Alaska – Image 2618

Linda Rosenthal plays the violin by Auke Lake at the University of Alaska Southeast campus. I shot this image a long time ago while on assignment for the Juneau Jazz and Classics which is an annual nine-day long music festival. There were two parts to this shoot. First, I shot the more traditional image you see here, and in the second shot we replaced her violin with a frozen king salmon. While she was bowing the frozen king salmon, it started to melt in the summer sun. The shoot had to be stopped quickly when the thawing salmon goo stated dripping down all over Linda. This year’s Juneau Jazz and Classics started on the May 15 and ends May 24. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Nikon F4, Lens: 20mm f/2.8 Nikkor, polarized, 35mm Vlevia slide film-Mark Kelley
