Lesser Yellowlegs, Glacier Bay National Park – Image 2498

A lesser yellowlegs lands in the top of a spruce tree and calls out. Yellowlegs nest in tundra or taiga woodlands and mark their territories by landing in the tops of local trees and squawking at trespassers.
