Juneau Waterfront, Alaska – Image 2827

Yesterday, the 15th, Juneau hosted the first five-cruise ship day of the summer tourist season The first ship arrived on May 2 and from now on out its is solid cruise ships until the last one leaves on September 25. I shot this image from an Allen Marine Catamaran off-loading passengers onto the cruse ship by a gang plank after touring the ship’s passengers around Tracy Arm. Being on the catamaran tied up to the cruise ship me allowed me use the curve of the bow as a compositional element–a leading line into the image. Additionally, I will be the photo leader on a week-long trip (August 30-September 6, 2013) through Southeast Alaska on board the 50-foot custom trawler “Delphinus” captained by my good friend, Ronn Patterson. The trip starts in Wrangell and ends up in Ketchikan. The trip will visit Anan Creek and travel through Misty Fjords. For more information contact Ronn at trips@dolphincharters.com or check out their website at www.dolphincharters.com. This image appears in my 2014 Juneau Alaska Calendar now celebrating its 25th year of publication. Thank you for visiting.
