July 2007 Cover of Alaska Airlines Magazine – Image 2526

Alaska Airlines Magazine featured my photo of the brown bear on the cover along with 15 of my wildlife images covering seven pages inside in the magazine. I shot the brown bear photo in Glacier Bay at Blue Moose Cove while working on my book on Glacier Bay National Park. I was in a kayak with my friend Brien. We were following the bear along the shoreline when he decided to come straight at us. He us above us slightly, and we were at low tide. The ground level view gives this photo a different perspective. He came right to the edge of the shore and woofed at us and stomped his front legs.
