Icebergs, Mendenhall Lake, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2433

The summer of 2004 was one of the hottest summers on record for Juneau. The Mendenhall Glacier retreated over 600 feet leaving huge icebergs in its retreat. Only about 10% of the iceberg is visible above the water which means that these are huge icebergs. This photo illustrates the month of September in my 2006 Juneau Alaska Calendar.
