Ice Cave, Nuggett Creek Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2252

This ice cave traveled back under the glacier about the length of a football field. This photo was shot looking back down toward the mouth of the cave. Althought uneerily beautiful, ice caves are extremely dangerous places. My friend is standing on ice that fell from the roof of the cave. Ice caves can and do collapse without any warning.
