The red northern lights appear above the spruce trees at the end of DouglasIsland. The most common color seen during northern lights displays is greenwith red being one of the least common colors seen. My northern lightsexposures for an ASA 100 slide film range from 30 to 90 seconds at f/2.8.The variation takes into an account the intensity of the the display. Thisphoto illustrates the month of February in my 2005 Southeast AlaskaCalendar. Camera: Nikon F5, Lens: 35-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor, Film: 35mm Velvia(35mm color slide film) rated at ISO 100 (pushed one stop).-Mark Kelley
