Floatplane, Auke Lake, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2588

There has been a photo of Auke Lake in almost every one of my Juneau Calendars. The overwhelming richness of the deeply saturated colors attracted me to this image…the yellow plane set off against the super rich greens of the reeds and deep blue of the lake is almost unbelievable. Throw in the mirror reflection and this photo becomes one of my favorites. This image illustrates the month of August in my 2009 Juneau Alaska Calendar which has been published for 20 consecutive years.
