I shot this photo of a float plane flying into Punchbowl Cove, Misty Fiords National Monument from a chase plane. Punchbowl Cove is remarkable for the 3,000 vertical wall that arises from the waters of Rudyerd Bay. Misty Fiords (just outside Ketchikan, Alaska) is a 2.2 million acre wilderness area created by President Jimmy Carter in 1978. I shot this photo with a Nikon F4 camera body using a 35-70mm F/2.8 lens (polarized) on Velvia film.-Mark Kelley
