Douglas Island Taku Winds “Blow’n in the Wind” Juneau, Alaska – Image 2671

Like the previous image #2670, this image was also accepted in the State of Alaska Museum’s biennial juried photo show, “Alaska Positive”. The original print will hang with the show for this summer at the Juneau museum and then will spend the rest of the year traveling to different museums around the state. I displayed a version of this photo from my January 2010 Juneau Calendar in a previous posting on 12-2-2009…Image #2646. I like this redone image better because of the new crop. My calendar image window size was designed to fit a full frame 35mm film image, and does not allow for unusual crops. For this juried show, I was able to crop the image to what I thought best suited it, and not to what best suited my calendar. Sometimes even when one publishes oneself there are compromises that need to be made. I am glad, however, that I can now display it with my preferred crop. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
