Cover of the State VacationPlanner for 2011 – Image 2748

Two summers ago, I won two competitive bids for shoots on tourism in Southeast Alaska…one for the summer and one for the winter. The shoots were for the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA). It is an association that takes money from its members ( tourism operators across the state and cruise ship companies) and the State of Alaska. With this money ATIA plans and carries out the ad campaigns both in print and television for the State of Alaska. The State Vacation Planner is where they concentrate most of their print energies. There were a number of other contracts shot in different parts of the state by different photographers. But, my image was picked for the cover. It is my third cover for the State Vacation Planner and the first one shot on assignment. The other covers were picked out of my photo stock collection. I just wanted to share a little more success. Next week, I will get back to displaying images. Oh by the way, this photo was taken on Thunder Mountain overlooking the Mendenhall Glacier. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
