Chilkat Mountains, Lynn canal, Sunshine Cove, Juneau – Image 2940

I got up four mornings in a row at 5am to get this photo. This setting moon was shot about 35 miles out the road (an hour drive from my home). I wanted the moon setting over the mountains right at first light. The first three mornings my timing was off, and unbelievably there was a fourth clear day in a row in April. On the fourth morning, I had the timing figured out. I got the photo that I previsualized. This image illustrates the month of January in my 2010 Southeast Alaska Calendar. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.Camera body: Nikon F-5. Lens, Nikkor 20-35mm f/2.8, polarized, Velvia Fuji 35mm slide film-Mark Kelley
