From a boat, I had been photographing mountain goats eating seaweed at thetideline when I heard the glacier crack. I quickly swung and startedshooting the calving glacier. Luckily, I was on auto focus and autoexposure. I would never have had time to make the exposure and focusadjustments manually because everything was happening so fast. To myamazement the camera was able to make the adjustments, and all I had to dowas to compose. This photo illustrates the month of March in my 2005Southeast Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F4, Lens: 300mm f/4 Nikkor, Film:35mm Fuji 50 (35mm color slide film).-Mark Kelley
