For those of you who do not know, Alaska has some great surfing. The most popular spot in Alaska are the beaches of Yakutat. Yakutat is a small town with a population of 650 that also has a great surf shop named Icy Waves. There are miles and miles and miles of unbroken and unpopulated beaches featuring breaking waves from the open ocean of the Gulf of Alaska. My sons are just starting their surfing lifestyles so my wife and I joined them on the beaches for a surf campout. We were there over Memorial Day weekend with the temperatures on the beach in the low 80’s. California and Hawaii eat your hearts out. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
