Bald eagles, Sitka, Alaska – Image 2524

Everyone loves taking photos of soaring eagles, and I am no different. I have way too many of these images and still can not stop taking them. Every once is awhile one image goes beyond the norm. This photo works for me because I see very few photos of eagles soaring in groups. It rarely happens. The interplay between the three eagles’ wings makes this image work for me. This image illustrates page 46 in my new book on Alaska called Alaska: A Photographic Excursion and is also the photo for the month of July in my 2008 Southeast Alaska Calendar. Camera: Nikon F/5, Lens: 80-400mm Nikkor, Film 35mm Velvia slide film.-Mark Kelley
