In addition to hosting huge populations of wildife, including bears, deer and eagles, the fall forest surrounding the Admiralty Island Wilderness Homestead lodge provides a bounty of berries, edible mushrooms, and rivers plugged with salmon. This Chicken of the Woods is just one of the several edible mushrooms, that we discovered on a short walk into the old growth forest.
