A holiday tree lights up a remote Alaska boat harbor.
Amalga Harbor in Juneau, Alaska is located “out the road”, 25 miles north of downtown Juneau. The harbor is a local boat launch and a great location for fishing, wildlife viewing and sightseeing. Ryan Kegler purchased this Christmas tree, formerly used by the Governor’s Mansion, from state surplus for his mom, as she always wanted a tree on the family dock.
On Christmas Eve in 2015 this image got “Binged!” Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, used this image as their homepage image of the day today. How fun is that!
