The Pine Grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator) is the largest member of the finch family in Alaska. While females are mostly gray with a touch of yellow to olive coloring, the males stand out with a pinkish to rosy red head, breast, back and rump. The Pine Grosbeak is the largest and rarest of the winter finches and will seek wintering areas with an abundant food supply.
