Alaska is famous for its puffins, but these clown-faced birds are hard to find in Alaska’s Inside Passage. The two reliable places to see puffins are in Glacier Bay National Park and in the open ocean by Sitka. In Glacier Bay I usually see puffins near the Marble Islands. This individual I found in the beautiful water by the McBride Glacier. The glacier silt turned the water color into this amazing green on a cloud–covered day.
