Tufted Puffin, Alaska #3134

Dec 11, 2019

Over my forty-plus years as a photographer in Alaska, I have had the privilege of photographing and publishing thirteen books on Alaska. I love all my books, but my favorite and most fun book to work on was the kids’ book “Once Upon Alaska.” I so much enjoyed reading Nick Jan’s rhyming verses and letting Heidi Reifenstein and Matt Knutson design the book with fanciful type flowing across the pages. As a publisher I try to only print enough books to sell in one year. I have reprinted the kids book every year since it was first published in 2013. Reprinting allows me to change, improve, and update all my books. Last year I added eight new pages and changed out five older images with five better and up-to-date images in the kids’ book. I am always tinkering and improving my books to make them ever evolving, living books. This week I am featuring four of the new images in “Once Upon Alaska”. Thank you for visiting.
