Sunset, Prince William Sound, Alaska #3033

The last few summers I have been invited by Princess Cruises to present a photography show on Alaska on board an Alaskan cruise. I jumped at the chance to sail with Princess across the Gulf of Alaska. We set sail from Whittier in late June and sunset occurred pretty late – between 10:00 and 11:00 in the evening. I never expected to get a perfect image from the rails of the cruise ship, yet I ended up with this shot of a dazzling light show. I stayed up most of the night watching Alaska drift by until we reached the Hubbard Glacier the next morning.
