“Stick Bear”, Brown Bear, Pack Creek, Admiralty Island, Alaska – Image 2816

I have seen plenty of stick dogs, but never until last summer did I think I would find a stick bear. I just love hanging out around bears. The more time I spend with them the more endearing they become. They are smart, curious, playful and sometimes down right goofy. This bear grabbed a stick floating down the creek and started playing with it just like any dog would. After she got it situated just right in her mouth, she walked up stream and disappeared in the tall grasses surrounding the Pack Creek. Why?
