South Sawyer Glacier, Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, Alaska…Image # 2891

Oct 1, 2014

If someone just had one day to visit Alaska, I would send them to Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness. My other hot spot would be the north end of Wonder Lake in Denali National Park. If the weather cooperates, the view of Denali in the Alaska Range is to die for. But, if it’s cloudy it is just another beautiful lake without a view. On the other hand, Tracy Arm will always be amazing, rain or shine.  No matter the weather, you will still see glaciers, (most likely actively calving), icebergs (most likely with resting harbor seals), steep fjord walls over 2,000 feet high, and lots of blue ice. Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm are two of my most favorite places in Alaska. This photo illustrates the month of September in my 2015 Southeast Alaska Calendar.  Thank you for visiting. Camera: Nikon D800,  Lens: Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8, Digital Capture.
