Sitka Black-Tailed Deer, Admiralty Island, Alaska #3025

“A Deer in Gold
Pack Creek on Admiralty Island is famous for viewing brown bears. I have also had great luck photographing Sitka black-tailed deer. I love the wetland grasses in autumn when the vast fields surrounding the creek turn golden. The golden grasses really pop the deer in the photo and offer a great contrasting color to the mostly brown doe. This photo illustrates the month of September in my 2018 Juneau Calendar.
