The Mendenhall Glacier on a multi-cruise ship day is a very busy place. Somewhere between 40 to 50% of all cruise ship passengers coming to Alaska go to the Mendenhall Glacier making the glacier the most visited natural wonder in Alaska. Photo point is the place most visitors go to view the scene. For several years, I had been looking for a photo that shows the glacier visitation going over the top. This is the photo that I settled on. On a busy day some 3,000 to 4,000 visitors can mob the place. Next week I will show your the counter point image. In a year, the Mendenhall Glacier will host close to half a million visitors including locals. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
