Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image #2941

Dec 9, 2015

Mt McGinnis, Mt Stroller White, and the Mendenhall Glacier reflect in an open-water pond created by the flowing water of Steep Creek in winter. Juneau and Southeast Alaska experience warmer temperatures during the winter months compared to interior Alaska, and we often have open water in the middle of winter. Lucky me, as I am constantly looking for opportunities to shoot mirror reflections in open water to give an image more depth and dimension. This photo illustrates the month of January in my 2016 Juneau Calendar. Thanks for visiting – Camera: Nikon D800, Lens: Nikkor 24-120mm F/4, ISO 200, digital capture, polarized – © Mark Kelley
