Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska #3382

Dec 11, 2020

The weather service forecasted overcast skies for yesterday. This was just fine with me because we have been so busy at the office. At around 11AM I looked out my window and saw clearing skies, so I immediately left and headed to the Mendenhall Glacier to get some good reflection shots. While I was shooting the reflections of Mt McGinnis, Mt Stroller White and the Mendenhall Glacier, in what locals refer as the swimming pond, my friend, Theresa, came by. We visited and she went off on her hike around the pond. I realized she was going to walk through a clearing at the other side of the pond where she would be silhouetted in the blue/white glacier face. I waited and got this photo. I am so lucky she came by. My last outdoor calendar signing of the season will be at the Alaskan Brewing Tasting Room, on your way to COSTCO, this Saturday from12- 5PM. My 2021 Juneau and Alaska Calendars can also be ordered at markkelley.com or purchased locally at Hearthside Books, Juneau Artist Gallery, Ben Franklin Variety Store, Alaskan Brewing Tasting Room, Super Bear IGA, Foodland IGA and the Bears Lair. Thank you for visiting and b well – Camera: #Nikon #D850, Lens: # Nikkor 24-70mm, Digital Capture, handheld ©Mark Kelley
