A constant problem for photographers is access and opportunity to photograph hard-to-reach places and events. This problem is especially difficult in Alaska because of its remote nature. I really appreciate everyone that has helped me get to locations that make photos like this one possible for the last forty years. I shot this photo of purse seiners, the F/V Sakina and the F/V Christian, in front of the Mendenhall Glacier during a twenty-four hour king crab opening last November. Thank you to Captain Andy Kalk for allowing me to photograph the lively opening from the F/V Osprey.
Thank you for visiting, Mark
