Kayakers, Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska-Image #2924

Aug 13, 2015

Paddlers in a double kayak cruise by the monolithic ice face of the Mendenhall Glacier. I shot this photo from a high rock wall across from the front of the glacier. When I climbed to my perch for the photo, I was pleasantly surprised by the reflections of the ice walls. I had not expected the reflections, and they make the photo work. This photo illustrates the month of June in my 2016 Juneau Alaska calendar. Thanks for visiting.  – Camera: Nikon D800,  Lens: 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom,  Digital capture, ISO 200, Copyright Mark Kelley 2015
