Kayaker, Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, Alaska, Image #2973

Sep 8, 2016

It had been raining on and off for two weeks straight here in Southeast Alaska. The world just outside the entrance to Fords Terror was soaking in rainforest green. Glacier silt, or rock flour, suspended in the tidal waters turned the water yet another shade of green. The waterfalls were swollen to bursting size. And the orange clad kayak ranger in his yellow kayak provided a perfect contrast to this very green, green world. This image illustrates the month of August in my 2017 Juneau Calendar. Enjoy the photo.
